Sloclap- IT Services Manager
Sloclap is an independent video game studio founded in 2015 in Paris. We are currently around 100 employees and growing, working on content updates for our last game, Sifu, along with another, unannounced project.
As a team, we enjoy taking on ambitious projects, with the objective of crafting new and original experiences at every project. The team's passion for martial arts has strongly influenced our first two games, Absolver and Sifu, but we are interested in other gameplay experiences too. Inside the broad action genre for PCs and consoles, our projects will share key characteristics: deep and challenging gameplay systems, a stylised art direction, and beautiful hand-crafted animations.
We are owner by Kepler Interactive, a global publisher and game developer built on a unique co‑ownership model, where we retain a stake in the company and our creative independence.
Overview:
We are now looking for an IT Systems Manager to take ownership of IT Services for Sloclap, working across a wide variety of tech and cloud solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is excited by the opportunity to put their own stamp on things. Here will you have the scope to implement automation and tools, establishing best practice for Sloclap, whilst also support on Group wide projects.
What you will do:
- Maintain and improve current tooling and connections between IT services to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
- Administrate the maintenance, configuration, and business continuity of IT services.
- Conduct post-mortems and root cause analysis for IT service outages.
- Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
- Monitor services uptime and ensure business continuity.
- Set up automation and tools to manage our endpoints.
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability & security
- Establish and centralised system logs of IT services.
- Own projects, overseeing a project from start to finish. Accountable for establishing project milestones and project deliverables.
- Routinely contributes to IT documentation and Knowledge Base.
- Assist with vendor relationships for IT services.
- Assist with projects and tasks outside of the day-to-day responsibilities.
- Develop the IT Services Apprentice to fulfill their potential.
- Overtime you will have the opportunity to work on group projects with Kepler and across our wider studios.
What we are looking for:
- Previous experience in an IT Administrator/Engineer/Analyst role
- You are a creative problem solver, striving to establish best practice
- You have a passion for automation and improving work efficiency
- Versioning tools knowledge (Perforce, GIT, etc..)
- Working knowledge of virtualisation, AWS, VMWare, or equivalent
- Knowledge of setting up and administering Linux environments
- A proven track record of developing and implementing IT services
- Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
- A self-starter, ability to multitask, prioritise issues based on severity and work independently
- Maintain close attention to detail and follows a task to completion
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
- A good understanding of networking (familiar with OSI model)
- A good understanding of localised infrastructure
What can you expect during the Interview Process:
For the IT Analyst role, we plan to have 3 stages of interview, below we have outlined what you can expect from, each:
Stage 1: You will meet with Olivier Gaetner and Mubeen Shaikh who head up Technology and IT services for Sloclap and Kepler, respectively. Here we will be assessing your previous experience, and looking to understand how you’d approach IT Services Management if successful.
Stage 2: Next you will meet with Alexandra, Sloclap Office Manager give you more insight into life at Sloclap.
Stage 3: Finally, you will meet with Jarryd Anderson, Senior Group IT Manager, who will be the manager for this role.
